Arts and sciences undergrad researchers to present during 2022 President鈥檚 showcase
More than two dozen 糖心vlog undergraduate researchers are set to present their work this week during one of the university鈥檚 premier academic traditions, the President鈥檚 Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence. Since 2009, the showcase has provided FSU student researchers with the chance to gain presentation experience and further their opportunities for research collaboration.
This year鈥檚 showcase is slated for Thursday, Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m., in the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House on FSU鈥檚 Tallahassee campus, and presenters include 13 students pursuing majors within the College of Arts and Sciences and another six student researchers with ties to the college.
The event, which is sponsored by the Office of the President and the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement, or CRE, is the culmination of the IDEA Grant summer research experience. CRE administers these grants, through which undergrads interested in conducting original research, engaging an entrepreneurial or nonprofit-based endeavor, or developing a service collective propose and complete research and creative projects. At the showcase, award winners share their work through poster and oral presentations.
鈥淭his showcase offers a prominent stage for displaying some of the most outstanding research and creative activities taking place across campus,鈥 said Sam Huckaba, dean of college. 鈥淕iven the college鈥檚 long history of first-rate mentorship and undergraduate research productivity, students and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences have answered this call year after year. I salute this year鈥檚 students and their mentors for their unwavering commitment to excellence.鈥
